John Morrison MD FRCSC FICS FACS has been performing laparoscopy as a method for hernia repair since 1991, making him one of the earliest surgeons to adopt this method. His office is a remodeled 150-year-old house in Chatham, Ontario. For many years, he has been involved in the following:
• Research and Treatment of Abdominal Wall and Inguinal Hernia Repair
• Education of Other Surgeons in Methods and Materials for Hernia Repair
• Treatment of Complications Following Hernia Mesh Insertion and Medico-Legal Issues Surrounding Hernia Repair
Dr. Morrison is one of the founding members of the Canadian Hernia Society and is currently the President-Elect. He will assume office in September of 2015. Dr. Morrison is also a member of the American Hernia Society and the European Hernia Society.
When not practicing, Dr. Morrison lends his expertise as an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario. He also works as a surgeon at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
